Note that the few 1972 model year 914-6es had the ignition lock on the steering column, just like the 914-4s.
The 914-6 mounted the motor to the firewall, so the "pods" that hang down under the engine bay (that the -4 motor mount bar bolts up to) are not present.
They still rust in the same places as the four-cylinder cars. In general, the three main things to look for are: Rust, rust, and rust.
