So my "cabin" is 2.5 to 3 hours drive one way, that's Denver to Woody Creek. I try and get off work at around 2'ish on Friday and head up there. Leave on Sunday mid-afternoon to go home. Sometimes the wife and kid stay the rest of the week, just depends. The rest of the time I rent it out to a small group of people.
Glad I bought it? Yes. It was bonus money that I needed to move into an investment. And we use it constantly, however much less during ski season. I also have a second condo that I inherited in Avon, but we're looking for a buyer for that. Or a long term renter.
