I was notified this afternoon I earned a promotion into a new and elevated role. 5 months ago I was selected to lead an aggressive inventory reduction project where the area manager was letting the Titanic carry on full steam ahead towards the iceberg. It so bad the CEO requested weekly progress updates on my project. Fast forward 5 months and the team succeeded in halting the destructive course and we are now rapidly heading in the right direction. This high visibility project along with many other successes has led to the increased responsibility.
There will be vast challenges in the area which will really push my capabilities but the professional growth opportunities are great. 2 departments have been combined into 1 which I will be leading. I will have 7 direct reports, some of which are 30 year employees. The significant bump in pay is in line with the market.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day with the announcement being sent out to the facility.
