p.s. the DOD(dept of defense) ISSUE scope mount is the american defense mfg quick detachable mt. in black and FDE.
the DOD issue scopes are trijicons 3x9 /ACOG's/2.5x10 NIGHTFORCE/and the leupold 3.5 x 10 x44mm mark IV with illuminated TMR reticle.
i went with the leupold. i have quite a few 3.5x10 leuppys and i have STANDARDIZED with them to make things SIMPLE as far as my comeups with fed 168gr BTHP rds. 1/2" MOA per click windage /elevation.
STOOOOOPID SIMPLE!
think about it for a minute, ya gots umpteen freeking spoons with umpteen different freeking scopes with different click MOA's and then throw in different rounds...................ya aint gonna hit the broadside of a barn without some ser-i-azz headaches.
doing all my scopes the same was one of the SMARTER things i have done over many years now.
i can literally grab a spoon from my safe, go to range or hunting, look at my come-ups pasted on inside left of stock, laser range find target.................and BEAN THE LIVING SNOT OUT OF IT 1ST SHOT!
i sight ALL of them in at 200yds. repetitive behavior begets repetitive results.
try having different scopes and see how screwed up things get fast.
i just gotta get closer than a 1000yds for my next bull elk hunt. a .50 barrett would have come in DAMN HANDY this past year! yeah my alaska hunting buddy just bought a bohica bolt .50 and a armalite .50 cal bolt for bears in alaska. cant wait to go up with him some year.
