Garage
Thanks for the welcomes. I went for a ride this morning in 28 degree weather. That's below freezing for you Celsius guys and pretty cold for Eastern NC. Heated gear on a cold morning seems like cheating; it's too easy. I'm really diggin this bike, especially the torque! Way different than my Hondas, but you guys already know that. It's much smoother since I got brave and did a valve adjustment, zero=zero and synched the throttle bodies. Replies are in order, so here goes:

BCRDave, that silver wheel belongs to an 07 VFR800. It's in my "garage". (The wheel is from a 93 VFR750.) The only mod the PO did was removal of the evap canister. I do have an Ohlins on the front, too. What a pity to hide it. At least the preload adjuster shows. I discovered the benefits of good shocks and springs late in the process of modding my first bike. It was the first thing I did to the next two. The headers were coated by Curt at CCPerformance.com. for about 75 a side plus shipping. I think I found him from a Pelican post. He's a good guy to do business with. That project was the only thing I sent out. I like wrenching as much as riding.

dee jones, will do. Can't wait to ride this bike in Western NC.

kpolito99 and wiggledled bits, Thank You, Sirs.

Bob Hancock, guess these guys 'splained what that growth on the back of my bike is. I've since cleaned it up and tucked it in. Some pics are in my garage. I was changing the air filter and found a bit of oil in the air box. A search informed me this was "normal" for our bikes. I changed it anyway. I do have cases(eBay). The covers are nicely painted, just not the right color. I'm going to sand them just to the paint , then paint them to match mine. I am on the lookout for a pair of city lids. Flakeage = normal, good to know.

throttlemeister, yeah, the friction coefficient is different for Mandarin BMW paint. Something to do with how the clear coat bonds to it. It lets the bike slip through the air with less drag than most of the other colors. Not sure about our Titan Gray. My neighbor came over and asked if I was going to paint it, " 'cause BMW is known for ugly paint schemes on it's bikes". I just laughed at him.

Nitro or throttlemeister, is this yours?

I lost the OP but saved the picture. Regardless, I stole the idea for mine.

As mentioned, I have updated my garage pics. Have fun on your bikes!
