I spoke with my wife and asked her to talk with her dad, so that's step 1. Frankly she should be just as concerned as I. I'll follow up with her to insure that the conversation has happened before our next visit. If I don't see any change the next time we are there, I will probably just talk to him myself. I have a really good relationship with my in-laws, but I also don't see it as my place to bring it up. "Never make your spouse the bad guy" when dealing with your parents, I think that's important in marriage.
