I don't believe we could piss-off the terrorists even more. For a decade they took shots at bringing down the WTC. That was back when we did very little to piss them off. They want to be taken seriously. . .now they got it.

Actually, they aren't and that is the problem. The administration is using the guise of terrorism to promote their own self-interest and to silence opposition to their hatred of freedom. Look at how little respect they have for any dissenting opinion. Afterall, they are blasting France and Germany for refusing to align themselves with Bush. Last time I checked, freedom of political thought was the first right specifically enumerated by the bill of rights. Iraq has never been shown to promote terrorism. All of the terrorists on invloved in 9/11 were Saudis and were pissed off at the US presence in Saudi Arabia and/or our treatment of Arabs vis-a-vis Israel.
Most of the Middle East lives in extreme poverty (per capita GDP of Iraq, for example, is US$2,500 as compared to US$36,000 here in the US). It's an issue of rich vs. poor. Same as it is everywhere else in the world. The rich (us) make the policy and try to force everyone else to follow it. Eventually, the poor get sick of being screwed and fight back.
