Agree with your assessment, but if he has records and looks like he took care of the car might want to meet him in the middle at $14k. I would point out that there are plenty of silver/black Boxsters out there, so nothing special there.
If you do end up needing the IMS or whatever, my take is the car will be worth more with low miles than with high when all is said and done.
