1975 911 w/ '68 Motor
Local mechanic has a '75 he wants out of his shop. He holds the title. The engine has been rebuilt from a '68--currently the car is on the rack with the motor sitting beside it. Body looks straight, the doors open and close well, glass is perfect. He replaced the front suspension pan, wiring harness (?), shocks, struts, fuel tank. New tires on stock rims, which look perfect.
The interior is not bad at all. Needs headliner. Few cracks in the dash, one large crack in driver's seat, but over all, looks good. ODO read 72k miles.
All the chrome trim looks perfect--even around the headlights.
Some surface rust on passenger door and it's missing both outer rocker panels (?) below the doors. Surface rust on a few other places, such as the front hood (deck lid?)
The undercarriage is solid--I checked with screwdriver. Said the pans have been rust coated.
He's a tuner boy. Has no desire to keep the car. Been sitting in the garage for over two years. He said the engine is strong, runs great. Wants to sell with the engine out. I refuse--I want to actually drive the car.
I'm looking for a project car.
I can get him down to @ $3000 with the engine installed.
I plan on doing all the paint stripping, body work and priming and painting myself.
Didn't have my camera to take pics.
What ya'll think? I was going to go back up there today but it's now snowing.
