It is actually what Porsche recommends in the owner's manual. Works great and lasts a good while. The factory finish is a combo of paint on the center and anodized rim. Seems to work very well on both. I'm not sure about polished, uncoated wheels but it couldn't hurt to try.

It does not attract much dirt if buffed off. I have ancient jar that cost 12 cents!
