I paid $45 for a one month unlimited license - if you just want one report it is $29.
You can easily check if AutoCheck.com has any records for your car by entering your serial number on
this page. The system only supports 17 digit serial numbers, but if you enter 7 spaces before your "928--------" serial number. If they have any records, they will tell you. If they do not, they will indicate you entered an invalid VIN.
For example, my serial number shows there are records on file:
9288200072
For Ron's car, it cannot find any:
9288200030
So you can at least check if there is something there before spending any money.
