As a very small child. I remember going to Hudson's downtown with my mom and brother. Hudson's Dwntown was a department store. It had elevators with black guys in white gloves! Furs! Glass cases full of shiny stuff. And the people! People everywhere! Rich people all in hats and gloves and woollen overcoats with fur collars. Even the men!
Then there were the Thanksgiving Day Parades. The majesty and magic of it all.
This would be 1960 or so.
