I think that the surge in the prices of the early cars has "motivated" sellers of all aircooled cars to set the bar very high. The aircooled market is a bit like the stockmarket right now - overhyped, imo.
When all are buying - then dont.
When I began looking for my 911s in the US about 10 years ago not many other Porsche addicts did that. My German friends always asked me "how did you find that car, and how did you dare taking the risk".
Today most of the German buyers look for cars on Pelican and Samba first and have absolutely no eye for the risk in the transaction.
I think that prices will stabilize - many cars are just too expensive right now.
