(Rant on)
The original BSG (2004-2009) was a good series overall. Season one was exceptional. Look to episodes like 33 to see what I mean. Season two was good. Season three...humph. Fell flat. Season four droned on and on...Except for "Daybreak." Daybreak gave you that pit of the stomach breathless feel that is the hallmark of good science fiction writing. It made you stop thinking 'this is science fiction' and concentrate on the story being told. I was upset and uneasy for days after watching "Daybreak." It was the end of the series. Some people didn't like it. I understand that Ronald Moore had to end the series early and force an ending on a limited budget. (we need more wrastling and reality series on the science fiction network don't you know.)
"Blood and Chrome" could have been so much more. It was going to be a series but because of the failure of Caprica, didn't get the green light. I watched Blood and Chrome for what it was and thought it was great. I understand most of it was CG and shot on green-screen like Sanctuary. It still delivered. Should have been a series but probably won't make it. The network buried it on Sunday night (didn't even see any promotion on any NBC Universal channels) so the ratings would be sub-par. Enjoy the wrastling and reality shows because you won't see shows like this anymore. Hopefully they saved enough money on "Blood and Chrome" to make such good tv as "Sharkapuss 18" and "Possessed Celebrity Underwear." (Rant off)
