The...back...of the seat base? This would explain why mine always slide forward out of the tubes.

Anyway, I have the standard plush "Ultimat's" from Lloyds. I do have carpet underneath the mats. I find this to be plenty thick. IMO, with carpet underneath there is no need for a higher pile material. I only have around 4500 miles on these, so I can't speak to the amount of wear and tear. Mine still look new...because they really are.
