Matches my experience with BMW and Ford. BMW better get their act together soon - embarrassed BMW owners are starting to publicly grumble about unreliability and cost of repairs. The BMW "boutique maintenance and repair situation" is an expensive joke with parts swapping mechanics instead of informed trouble shooting. $300 to bleed the brakes - they are plain nuts.
Just the opposite with Ford - trouble free operation and minimal maintenance after a decade of moderate use - at 80,000 miles the brakes are still within spec thanks to my easy driving wife. Nothing much except oil changes (Swepco) and a couple of transmission fluid and filter changes,
