As for a majority of seats and popular votes is pretty close to a pipe dream with 3 viable parties and doubt we'll see it any time soon.
The closest that I participated in was in 1984 when the Conservative had a majority but only 50% of the popular vote, 50.1% would be the majority.
For nostalgia, here are the election years where the governing party had also the majority of popular votes, note that except for 1958 & 1949 there was only 2 "real parties" to vote for:
