Hey bud...I was once you. Only I never comtemplated selling. Had a great time with wife.com and the car pre kids. Then had kids. Car sat in my garage for 6 years (venturing out only for smogs) eventually leaking oil until there was a pool of oil so large you'd a thought BP had been there.

Since I now also had a second kid I had very little $$$ to send it to the shop for the likely large mechanic bill to fix all the problemas. So, I found my way to Pelican, posted a bunch of pics under the title Computer Nerd Attempts to Fix Oil Leaks and decided to fix it myself with zero mechanical skills. Everyone came to my rescue and helped me with the repair via the web.

A year later (hehe, I'm not a very good mechanic) I got her running and although a list of 'quirks' remain I am able to take her out and drive her again and she runs great. The kids are now 8 and 12 and both love trips to school, ballet, etc. Hopefully I'll never have to sell her and one of the kids will get her. By then she might be worth some real $$$. It might take another 10+ years but I really think these cars are going to be worth some big bucks one day.
