Must say Glen in my 33 year career, (and most of it spent in and around Air Force Head Office on Oz), that I have done one or two honor guards, if the officer is above Air rank then the guard is all Warrant Officers, and these days there aren't as many of them as there used to be, so we would watch for the obituaries and knew when we had a funeral to practice for. Very serious affairs, really gives the retired member a fitting tribute.
A very moving experience for all of the troops who are on the guard.
