I've been a commercial pilot for almost 25 years now and if people ask me I tell them the same thing. Get a well paying job, make good money and fly on the side. My line of work is so heavily regulated that it just isn't fun any more. Yes, it beats a desk job but if I had to do it all over again, I think I'd choose something else.
