Last night, after finishing my schoolwork (MBA class) for the day, I just got lost in the moment listening to a great a set of songs that were playing on my "Electronica" station on Pandora. Started with Nadia Ali's Fine Print, then Morgan Page's In the Air, Kaskade's Fire in Your New Shoes, Swedish House Mafia - Save the World, Armin Van Burren - Never Say Never, and Benassi Bro's Feel Alive. That was refreshing! Didn't have to 'thumbs down' or skip a single song for over an hour.
This music may not be highly technical, like some classical baroque or old jazz music, but it has a complexity and progression about it that quite enjoy. Granted, some of it is repetitive, but within the repetition there are movements and additions that you don't see in typical pop music. While 'the beats' are very dominant in this music, it is what transpires between the beats that captivates me.
What I find interesting is that what gets my endorphins going musically may just be noise to someone else, and visa-versa.
Sorry of getting all philosophical. Um yeah - I like Pandora...
