The Samsung and Kindle I have personal experience with; they're easy and great. The Google device, I don't have but have researched and it looks pretty damn good. And as far as proprietary goes...Google will never go there. They're all about open everything; it's practically they're business model. Apple has ALWAYS been ridiculously proprietary (it used to be worse), and that's not going to change anytime soon. Not to mention they're so far overpriced for what they offer, it's ridiculous.
