Jeff, the Japanese are whaling in a marine sanctuary, they are re-fueling in a marine sanctuary.
Sea Shepherds stated aim is to harass the whaling fleet and disrupt the whale hunt. I would be surprised if the way Bob Barker was handled breached the rules of the sea, it was steaming parallel, no danger of collision. But- clearly to disrupt the tankers activities. The Nisshan Maru clearly caused that contact.
If SS provokes the Japanese into a ramming incident in whaling waters, and here we are talking about it, and its on our TV and interwebs and Govts (notably of AUS and NZ) are further emabarrassed by their gutlessness on this, then more power to Sea Shepherd's arm.
