Against the Tide: The Story of the Acadian People
It wouldn't mean anything to most of you guys but if you might be interested in learning a little about the sad history of the early cajun people and all the tragedy and hardship they endured first at the hands of the french govt. then the british govt, the Spanish govt, French govt again the finally the US govt. before making a life in the swamp lands of Louisiana where no one else wanted to live. meaningless to you guys I'm sure but with a family history in louisiana going back to the mid1700's it choked me up bit. and you get to listen to some good cajun music too
