Can anyone verify if Reutter bodied 912's have decklids with the last three Chassis Nr. digits stamped in ? If so , how late in production ? On 911 models (Reutter produced bodies only) , this was done (along with doors & fenders......have not heard of hoods stamped) until sometime in 1967MY (I think this ended sometime in 1967 MY / 2nd half.....1967 production year of 1967MY).

If it can be determined that these 912 body pieces (again , would be Reutter only) were also stamped....and also determined this procedure was done into 1967MY as with 911 model Reutter bodies.

Then all wasserkuhl has to do is look for the last 3 digits on centerbar of decklid (facing outward torwards grill ...at one end or other ...I think roof end) , and if there ...AND no filled early badge holes. Then this car , for certain , came with later style emblems.
Thanks for this little piece of information!

The car is in transit from where I bought it from, I will only be able to verify this next thursday when I collect it from the Trucking company.

It is a Porsche Body , which I understand was Reutter beforehand. The Chassis # dictates its a Porsche Body and not Karmann.

I will have a look for the last 3 digits.

It doesn't have holes for the old emblems, I did check that!
