I think it'd be a blast. And as far as his fear of heights go, how severe is it? Is it like Bell said, just a fear of the unknown, or is it a crippling fear? If it's the former and not the latter, I'd say do it. You can use the fact that you're also scared as a way to bolster his confidence level a bit...it's always easier to tackle something new with someone you trust, especially if you know they're scared, too. And who in the world should he trust more than his father? I say do it; it'll likely be something the two of you never forget.
