One of the reasons why in America we have physicians as gate-keepers for medications is due to education and liability reasons. But hey, if pharmacists and individuals are willing to accept that responsibility, that's fantastic for everyone involved. I'd be all for it.

if you know the quality of pharmacy students and the training they get you sure do not want them prescribing meds. (exceptions exist, of course)
stick with a very highly selected pool of young people, who then receive extensive and intensive training for many years
