The first 0-100-0 test I recall reading about was on the Aston Martin DB4 GT....figures released by Aston Martin, and passed on by Road & Track.
As good a performance indicator as any, I suppose...but how important is it for a street car? Not much, unless you are James Bond, a hottie at his side, outdriving the machine gun packing bad guys in their clunky sedan.
I like a car that offers performance, but it's far from the sole criteria I use. Especially these days of freeway traffic so dense you can't really use what you have. The older I get, the more comfort seeps into that criteria along with economy of purchase and hassles of maintaining the thing. Mileage not a big factor for me because I don't drive that many miles annually. Gas could go to $10 per gallon & it would be a minor blip on my radar screen because of those low miles driven.
So, buy what you like...most of us do anyway, right?
