If you change to coilovers you need to reinforce the strut/shock towers. They are not made to handle the suspension of the vehicles weight as well as the pounding it will take from the suspension. This is normally absorbed by other areas.
Body motion, www.bodymotion.com, will convert the rear of your car to coilovers for about $1500. They do it as part of the 915 --> G50 conversion process.
