My pipes have their fair share of flats and kinks and also one has a small hole where the pipe has been scratched which weeps a bit. I have a hydraulics shop near me who can make replacements but recommended the use of flexible braided hose for the full length. I have a sample and it does look good I must admit. Has anyone done this before? Are there any pitfalls? Anyone got a picture??

A couple of datapoints:
1. The factory metal lines also cool the oil some.
rubbed at some point.
2. I've also seen braided lines sagging between the clamps on an early car. I don't know if they would be hidden by the rocker panels on a different car or if more clamps would keep them out of sight.
While I'm on the subject of oil lines: The right rear tire comes
very close to one of the metal oil lines. I've been at 2 (!) track events where a non-factory oil line was rubbed thought or failed dumping a bunch of oil on the track in the process. Pull the R.R. tire off a track driven SC or a Carrera car with 17" wheels and a lot times you'll see a shiny spot where the oil line has already
I would go for a solid line if possible - especially in the R.R. tire area.
Good luck and let us know how you make out.
