The solid oil lines from the thermostat to the front oil cooler are a long way clear of the rear wheel on my car which is a 1978 911SC. The two pipes curve upwards to the bottom of the thermostat forward of the torsion bar cutout in the sill.
I plan to put in a number of new supporting 'P' clips attached to the sill with RivNuts to avoid sagging. My only real issue might be the curved section as the pipes curve up into the front wheelarch. There is enough room for the flexible which cannot sustain such a tight bend, but I may need to releive the outer sill and end cover a little to stop rubbing.

I don't think any loss in cooling from the pipes will be a convern. I use the car infrequently and as I live in the UK and we haven't had a summer for a few years, overheating would be a miracle!
