Well, I think some persistence has paid off. After sending the seller a couple of emails a day for several days, then one a day for a few more days, then finally only one every couple of days, he finally called me. We struck a deal for the car and our good friend, Rich A. has both verified for me that the car actually exists and is in the process of delivering my money to the seller and getting the title and any other documentaion. Then he is going to load it up on his trailer and take it to his place until I can pick it up toward the end of the month. I can hardly wait.
The condition of the car appears just about how it looks in the pictures. The seats are apparently out of some other early 928, but look to be in pretty good condition. The rest of the interior remains to be seen, by me, but Rich says the leather dash is trash. The paint is probably poor with Rich reporting that the clear is coming off. The engine is hopefully as advertised with the need of some new valve springs, but who knows. Maybe I'll get to rebuild it.
In the meantime, at least I will have an early 928 for further development of the WW Liners for that series of these cars. And the price was certainly what I needed for such an investment.
I'll take some pictures when I get close enough to it in a couple of weeks and post them.
