Garage
Fred - I realize you already made the stand (and a good looking one too) but something you might consider is movement while the machine is running. In one of the garages, have a similar Taiwan mill. Every machine has its limit's but these mills do have their place and ideal for small stuff. I've found adding some mass down low and attached to the base helps. If the legs were shortened, in place add a butcher block chunk like solid heavy wood between the mill and stand plus cast weights on the bottom greatly helps. Also, the headstock like to move lateral or pivot if those locks are not clamped down really tight. Eventually you'll find its limits and light cuts aleviate it. Overall a great machine for home shop / garage. Add a neat old Atlas or Craftsman 109 lathe and lots can be done in a small space. Have fun!
