I use mostly Griots so can only speak to them. The process is pretty simple as has been mentioned by Gorilla. I would do:
Clay Bar
Polish with orbital. Griots has different levels of polish.
Wash thoroughly before waxing.
Use a very good wax with the orbital.
Enjoy the shine.
Don't over-think this and whatever good shine you get is a gift when the paint is toasted like that.
