I would start in the height of summer and tour all of northern europe. then closer to the end of summer start to make my way south. so many beautiful scandinavian countries/cities that are covered with blankets of snow the rest of the year. Don't forget about eastern europe as well. Lots of beauty thats forgotten by many tourists. btw, I would avoid naples and salerno if your on american plates...we had to do some serious palm greasing to get our car out of the cabrianeri(sp?) impound because we had US tags and registration.
