If you have to rely that much on engine braking (or anything BUT your riding skills) to keep you out of trouble, I am sure you might want to think about other things than the sprockets.
The sprockets still let you run in the upper RPM range, btw. and it is virtually unnoticeable that you are missing something, but the bike itself (IMHO) is no fun there, as the engine is just not refined enough to sustain such a riding style. Extensively ride a Duc or even an I-4 and you'll understand what I mean.
