When Arkansas put their CHCL into effect a number of years ago the serial #'s (up to three) were listed on your permit. Those were the only ones you could exercise the permit with. That provision was removed a long ago. The OP's state may have something similar.

which gun a lawful CCW holder carries? Wow. That needs to change. Talk about a useless waste of time and resources, recording those serial numbers.
