The beauty of the CTS-V (IMHO) is that it's a very capable and comfortable "fun" car that just also happens to have a lot more everyday utility than the sports car (especially in wagon variant). This means you get to have "fun" even when you're headed to the big box store to buy your bulk packages of Bounty and Charmin  Gas mileage does suck though...you have to pay to play.

That's where I'm at in my life also. My 911 is the most impractical car and actually a two seater since I have a roll bar. If I didn't have kids (or maybe a wife), trust me, I would be tooling around in the best sports car I could afford, all the time. Things didn't work out that way.
