It is foolish to totally dismiss Wiki as a reference. As Lube points out, all history is biased. After all, it is the victor who typically writes the record & one of his spoils is the ability to alter the facts of the matter. Herodotus didn’t write facts in his ‘The Histories’. He wrote a) his version of the facts or b) his version of the facts based on the biases of the authors of his research data. And so on throughout history. So, just like any other reference, you have to read it as just another source. You have to make the effort to look up the references & challenge the data if you can prove it wrong. Wiki is an ongoing experiment. A rapidly mutating encyclopedia & it is far from perfect. But if you want to make it better – rather than just complain about bias & inaccuracies - challenge it. That’s the point.
