resealing rear hatch

Hello, I regassed my rear hatch struts in an 84 944 and it was not long after that the age of the rear window seals objected and the glass along the roof edge of the hatch broke away from the frame. I have removed the hatch and removed the frame and cleaned all the old sealer away. I noticed that the sealer where the strut fixtures are was much harder than the rest of the sealer, was there anything different done in that area to help with the pressure or do I just use the one sealer all round ?. I am using a specialised windscreen sealent so I hope that does the job. Also now I have the hacth off, I want to remove the poor attempt on the rear hatch only of window tinting. There are area's of bubbling etc. Any tips on getting this stuff off ? I have been able to pull some off, it leaves a glue residue ontop of another layer of tint that does not want to come off, I have removed all the glue no problem, Any ideas ?
