When I go to a new place/city I often look for pea soup. I was in Palm Springs and found a restaurant that had yellow pea soup. I think that it was called Kaiser's restaurant. Just excellent pea soup. In Edmonton here I used to go to a crepe restaurant and they had the most excellent pea soup. A year ago I went back for the pea soup. It was not on the menu. I asked how come. The waiter said the chef left and took his recipe with him......
Fresh bread, pea soup and a glass of red wine. That to me is close to food heaven.
