you have to ask yourselves 2 questions re economics:

1. would you want to go back to pre-Thatched England? (not just the 20% inflation, the whole thing)

2. could the problems have been solved is some other way (some kinder, gentler way I guess)

I also see that our resident Hayek scholar didn't pick up on my previous remark...
