Shoud you buy an '02 C4S? Definitely!
Should you buy this '02 C4S? I would not, at that price.
I have had an '03 C4S for a number of years - fantastic car. I can go on and on about why I think these are the best of the best of the 996 era, but PM me for my phone number if you want to discuss.
A friend of mine is also looking to buy an '02 - '04 C4S and he has a few that he's been looking at. The two best that he's narrowed down are: cheaper than this one, lower miles, and no accident history. The "fair" price for a C4S seems to be in the 30's now, but there are a few in the low to mid 20's that are pretty nice.
So based on what my friend is buying: also an '02, 70K miles, $23.5K, no accidents - I would say that your car is an okay deal, but there are better deals out there. I would keep looking. The accident alone would scare me away. I do NOT trust dealers when they give you their opinion about how bad an accident was.
