My experience with the vintage was simply perfect. No need to use the dimmer. No contrast to what you see out the windshield at night and the tach is well lit and provides just the right amount of light. The only gauge that doesn't light up well is the clock, but it's more about the physics of how the bulb sits than the bulbs themselves. Great product and worth every dime.
