What exactly is the Van Halen mod? I built a Plexi clone using the factory schematics, but i have not been able to find anything about this mod. I have heard that you add a VARIAC between the output transformer and the power tubes. Did Eddie run it at 220 voltage? I have heard that he used to buy NOS tubes by the truckful, as he used to burn them out after every show.
