Couple of questions. Did you talk to a live person or was it a recording? Second, did they say you had bought mats
from them, or just that you had bought mats?
My thinking on this depends on your answers. If it was a "confirmation call" to confirm you had bought mats but
didn't state it was from their company, then I think it's a type of solicitation from a purchased list, as you suspect.
If they said it was a confirmation of a purchase
from them,then I, personally, would be more concerned. I would call them and ask to talk to someone of authority and say you suspect you are a
victim of identity theft. I would ask them to tell you the details of the order, the date it was made, how it was made (phone or internet), and method of payment (which credit card, for example--I doubt if they'd give you the number over the phone but you can ask if they have the number.) How they respond to those questions will tell you if it's a marketing ploy or not. If they really had an order from you, they should be very cooperative in helping you in your possible identity theft. If not, they will give you a bit of a run around and maybe even admit they just bought your information.
