Agreed if it is your only toy car but if you are a collector, a guy who owns a bunch of cars, it makes all kinds of sense. A collector with several cars has fun driving each one just occasionally and also gets to stare at them in his man cave.
A buddy of mine collects motorcycles - he is up to 20 now and every one of them is pristine, low mileage and most are unusual models/special editions. He doesn't have the time to put significant miles on more than one or two that he uses for regular riding.
