You shouldn't rely on a screen. For an older wine, you will see a discoloration (bottom scum
) before the chunks. This will impact clarity in a big way. Use a candle (although a flashlight works in a pinch).
Vinturi's have their place with a young pop 'n pour wine. For anything good, decant hours ahead & let it breathe.
