I had one of the big ones that Girot's sells- I used it a few times and gave up. Gave it away.
Sloooow. You are never sure you are totally empty, so refiling with oil can be a crapshoot, and it's just one more thing to clean up under you are done. It also won't pick up any bits and pieces at the bottom of the pan.
The old method is faster and superior. Those things are made for boats....
