I guess the best way to answer your question is if money was not a factor everyone would buy both. Arguably each car was the best in the world when new at the purpose for which it was designed. Conversely Porsche went to the expense of developing 2 different models so that they did not have to compromise in the design of either. It sounds like you are aware of the different intents of both cars & you just lack some seat time in both to decide.
